Site upgrades!

You may have noticed some changes around the site. I've added a "recent comments" section to the sidebar, so you can see what people have been discussing lately, and now there are "related posts" at the bottom of each post, directing you to other points of interest. Categories are now a drop-down menu, to help reduce the clutter. More changes will be coming soon, as well as some new writers. Are there any other features you'd like on the site?

Well I feel like an idiot. Comments approved!

This site gets so much spam (don't they all?), that I really don't bother checking the "marked as spam" comments (I have yet to see a false-positive in there). I have the site configured to email me whenever a real comment gets held for moderation, but for some reason, it stopped emailing me months ago! I haven't been posting a whole lot recently, and when I post videos I figure most people simply comment on youtube, or on the various sites (NeoGAF, rock band forums, etc.) where I link to the video. Well I finally was going through some settings and found there were tons of comments held for moderation that I didn't know about! So I went through them all and approved them, and will make sure that doesn't happen again. Very sincere apologies to anyone who took the time to comment! They were not lost, just delayed!

Of some note are all the great comments on Half-Life 2: Episode 2 – "Little Rocket Man" Gnome Achievement Tips. Nine months later, and people are still leaving comments, which can now be seen! Thanks for all the extra tips!

Another good comment is the review by Eugenio, posted under my Getting Up Review.

So aside from that stuff, I'd just like to say that I will definitely be putting up some Rock Band videos! I wanted to wait until I had better drums, but I don't know if that's going to happen anytime soon. I'll be sure to get some full band videos — we may be having a "Rock Band 2 BBQ" in the next week or so.

I'd also like to get more content up, maybe some more podcasts (I wanted to do a GTAIV podcast, but my roommates took forever to finish the game! I beat it in three days). Now that I promise your comments will be seen — what do you want to see more of on this site? Guides? Gameplay videos? Rabbit Runs? Podcasts? More papercraft videos? :)

New Server!

You may have noticed CRG has been down for a few weeks, and was a little spotty before that. Well we are now on a completely different, much better host! The old server went down unexpectedly, so some comments were lost, but that's about it (my backup was about a week old). I also got rid of all the ads!

In other news, my other roommate just bought a PS3, so at some point I might have some PS3 reviews up (though he keeps it in his room, unlike the 360 in our living room). There really aren't too many PS3 exclusive games I'm interested in playing though — LittleBigPlanet is the main one that comes to mind, and of course a new Twisted Metal if they make one.

Now we just need to get our hands on a Wii, which we've been trying to do for a year. We're all pretty broke at the moment though, so we haven't been trying that hard.

Someone posted this rar file on another site, but the link was dead. So after searching around, and not being able to find it, someone sent it to me (thanks, avjgtfusion!). If you play Drummania on your PC (DTXMania), and you like Weezer, this is for you. Most of the songs are pretty easy. They're all under 40 difficulty, I think, and a few of them have Basic and Advanced. Still, fun to play. You can get the rar file in the Downloads section, at the bottom.

I did not write this guide (more info here), but I added screenshots and other images, as well as formatted the whole thing. I think it turned out really great, one of the best guides on CRG yet. Digidrive FAQ by Zynx!

Zynx has written a guide for Digidrive, complete with screenshots! Digidrive is one of the bit Generations games for the Game Boy Advance (I wrote some guides for Orbital a few months ago). It's a rather complex puzzle game, so if you're going for the high score, be sure to read his guide!

Elite Beat Agents FAQ now up!

This is just the first version of course, so stuff is missing and possibly incorrect. I haven't had tons of time to play EBA, I pretty much just flew through the game and beat it on all difficulties (except for the easiest, avoided that), but haven't gone back to raise my scores yet.

Please help out if you can (post in the comments, email me, etc.). I'll put up some screenshots eventually, and probably put up some other EBA pages besides the FAQ. Here it is:

New Downloads page, hi-res Far Cry video

Just a quick update to mention that there's a new Downloads page. I'll be adding hi-res versions of the videos there, and maybe some other stuff like wallpapers. Right now only the Far Cry Rabbit Run is up, but go get it if you're interested, it's much better quality than YouTube.

Also, I had some new characters I wanted to add to the header image, so I did that, and made it a bit smaller. Can you name the games the new characters are from? If so, you're a geek. ;)

Orbital Final Galaxy map walkthroughs!

I just finished making maps of each Final Galaxy stage. I wrote descriptions with tips, and a walkthrough. In some cases I drew routes on the map to show exactly how to beat it. Even if you're not that far, check it out to see how crazy some of the stages get!

I recently got a chance to play all of the bit Generations games (GBA imports). Some of them are not so great (Boundish, single player anyway, kinda boring Pong), while others rock (Dotstream). I had already seen footage of Dotstream, so I knew I'd like it. Basically a racing game but with some interesting twists, and tons of style, like all of the games.

This game is crazy. It's a little hard to play though since it's in Japanese, so I "translated" the menus and figured out most of the mechanics of the game. I also have a section on how to defeat the bosses, etc. There are lots of screenshots if you just want to see what the game is about. You can also buy this game for $13 including shipping! Unfortunately a bunch of the videos got taken down due to copyright issues. Other people put some of them back up though, so we've updated the links where available. Good news though, a video that we couldn't find a link for before is now up! If you watched all the videos when the page first went up, you haven't seen this video! Don't watch it if you have a headache…or epilepsy. Seriously. It's worse than a strobe light.
